DALLAS (Dallas Business Journal) – Residential construction is up in North Texas while commercial construction is down, according to the latest report from McGraw-Hill Construction.
The report, which covers future construction projects filed in the greater Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington area, shows that the number of future construction contracts filed on home building projects was up 38 percent last month, reaching $290.5 million.
Meanwhile, contracts on commercial construction projects totaled $256 million, down 14 percent from $296 million in 2008.
Overall, the number of total construction contracts on future building projects grew 8 percent in December, hitting $546 million, up from $508 million.
