From Farm to Forest: Montgomery County Welcoming New Homes
MONTGOMERY COUNTY (Gracepoint Homes) – Gracepoint Homes has purchased 156 acres near I-45 just south of FM 1488. The land will be used for a new residential development.
The initial phase of The Forest, which is slated to begin home sales in early 2015, will include 65-foot homesites for patio homes and 80-foot properties for traditional single-family homes. A gated section will have quarter-acre homesites for custom-designed homes, said Gracepoint President Tom Cox Jr.
Pricing will range from the $600,000s to the millions.
The property is currently used as farm land. It is bordered on two sides by W. G. Jones State Forest, a 1,722-acre forest owned by Texas A&M University.
The Forest will also have parks, trails and several lakes.
Montgomery County is seeing a surge in commercial development, with three million sf of office space under construction in The Woodlands, equating to 10,000 employees, said David Jarvis with Metrostudy.
