HOUSTON (Houston Chronicle) – Rents in Houston have hit an all-time high, as the area continues to face strong demand for apartments.
Over the past year, rents across Houston have risen 5.3 percent to an average of $785 a month, according to locally based Apartment Data Services. Typical growth is between 2.5 and 3 percent.
Rents among upscale properties are climbing even more rapidly, up 9.4 percent over the last year.
