HOUSTON (Houston Chronicle) – Downtown Houston’s nearly 100-year-old Texaco building is being turned into a high-end apartment complex.

Provident Realty Advisors plans to start construction within a month on the 309-unit complex at 1111 Rusk. It will have a 550-car garage and the potential for an additional 200 units if the developer decides to add a high-rise above it.

Tennessee-based Hnedak-Bobo Group is the project’s architect.

The city has already approved financial incentives for the project, such as tax rebates for adding new residential units to downtown.

CBRE represented the seller, Kimberly-Clark.
