HOUSTON (Wolff Companies) – The new Texas Medical Center–West Campus celebrated its inauguration ceremonies on its 170-acre complex at I-10 and Barker-Cypress Rd.
Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus and Methodist West Houston Hospital serve as anchor institutions for the medical complex, which will serve residents of greater West Houston and adjacent areas.
According to a Wolff Companies press release, it represents an initial investment of over half a billion dollars and almost 1.2 million sf of state-of-the-art healthcare development by Texas Children’s Hospital and the Methodist Hospital System.
When its emergency center and hospital services open in spring 2011, Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus will be among the nation’s largest suburban pediatric hospitals with a 294,000-sf inpatient facility and five-story, 221,000-sf outpatient clinic building, which opens in December.
The Methodist West Houston Hospital consists of a 478,500-sf full service hospital as well as a six-story, 150,000-sf medical office building.
