HOUSTON (CBRE) – Two historic downtown properties totaling 107,879 sf have been purchased by Braun Enterprises.

The largest is the ten-story Great Jones Building at 708 Main St. The 78,843-sf office building was built in 1908 and renovated in 2002. Additional upgrades were made last year. The building has been home to Texas Company (Texaco). It was formerly known as the Bankers Mortgage Building.

The other acquisition is the 29,036-sf mixed-use McCrory Building on the corner of Prairie and Main St. Built in 1912, it was originally a silent movie theater known as the Isis Theater. It was renovated in 2000. The three-story property at 1004 Prairie has ground-floor retail and office space on the two upper floors.

The acquisitions mark Braun Enterprises’ first venture in downtown Houston.
