- James and I talk about the Mortgage Forgiveness Tax Relief endangered by the ongoing Fiscal Cliff negotiations in Washington. If this program gets cut, former homeowners who completed a short sale would owe income taxes on the amount of debt forgiven in the deal. This is “kicking someone while they are down.” Lets hope our leaders in Washington realize the impact this would have on struggling Americans.
