I know this is a real estate blog, but I am also a mommy of two boy and car safety is important for all of us.  Whether your grandma picking up kids on the weekend or a daddy in a hurry to work – car seat safety is so important to protect our children.  These tips are from State Farm Insurance at you can read more about kid safety tips at http://www.sfkidsafety.com

Safety Tips for Kids:

1.  Until age 13, all children should ride in the backseat of the car where it is safer for them.

2.  Use a rear-facing child safety seat from birth until at least 1 year old & at least 20 lbs.

3.  Switch to a forward-facing child safety seat when the child is at least 1 year old & weighs between 20 & 40 lbs.

4.  Use a belt-positioning booster seat with a lap & shoulder safety belt for children between 40 & 80 lbs., & under 4′ 9″ tall.

Good info. I am a nurse and have seen the effects of improperly installed car seats in accidents. This is very important!
