Springwoods Village is a 2,000 acre master planned community moving to Spring, Texas with ExxonMobil! Actually, it’s going to be under construction soon just south of The Woodlands. It is intended to house many of the ExxonMobil employees and their families. We have seen many master planned communities in our area, like The Woodlands, so this is not a new concept for our area. The Woodlands was the first successful master planned community in the Houston area and it is almost completely built out. The Springwoods Village Community is planned to break ground sometime in 2012.

The proposed Grand Parkway will intersect the Springwoods Village Community providing easy access to other areas. It is expected to have luxurious rentals, provide diverse housing for families, while offering schools, libraries, shopping areas, dining, and parks. All of this will be only minutes from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It will be about 30 minutes north of Houston and just south of The Woodlands in North Harris County. Community members will enjoy nature preserves and parks.

Currently in the site preparation stages, the mixed-use Springwoods Village developers have earmarked 60 acres for construction of a new regional hospital and medical district. When completed, it will include about 4,500-5,000 housing units. The infrastructure, expected to be completed by 2014, will support an office and employment campus, the town center, water and wastewater facilities, a volunteer fire station and the first residential homes.
