Are you relocating to a new home? Thinking about moving to a new location in the same city? Let’s take a look at what homebuyers really want these days…

Due to the economic situation we have endured over the last two years, many homebuyers want a house that is energy efficient. I’m not just talking about insulation…I mean ceiling fans, high efficiency HVAC systems, low e double pane windows, hi performance appliances, and other features.

One of the rooms that is in high demand is the laundry room. Ninety-three percent of homebuyers said they would not buy a home without a laundry room. It’s a room that all families use.

Another thing buyers want…is organization. Want to make your home more appealing for a buyer? Add wracks in the laundry room, add closet organizers, put cabinets and peg boards in the garage, and add a walk-in pantry if you don’t have one. The kitchen is the most important room in the house for most buyers.

Surprisingly, fewer buyers want to live in golf course communities these days. They also no longer want those two story family rooms and entries.

As for the outdoors, most buyers want some type of outdoor living space. However, most don’t want an outdoor kitchen, just a grill is enough. A kitchen outdoor is just more mess to clean up!
