HOUSTON (Houston Business Journal) – Area home listings in July increased by less than 1 percent from the previous month, to 28,347, according to real estate brokerage ZipRealty. Compared with July 2008, listings were down 20 percent.
ZipRealty’s monthly survey of 28 metropolitan markets identified a 15th consecutive month-over-month decline in U.S. home listings, indicating that the national housing market is continuing to stabilize.
According to Multiple Listing Service data, single-family home and condo listings were down 2.5 percent from June.
Austin posted the largest decrease in inventory with a month-over-month decline of 10.5 percent in July.
