TOMBALL (Houston Community Newspapers) – Three building and expansion projects will help Lone Star College-Tomball make room for its ever-growing student body.

A 60,000-sf health science building will include a nursing lab, simulation lab and surgical technology lab.

A 30,000-sf performing arts building will be built near the campus library.

An extension of the existing veterinary technology facility will provide an additional 20,000 sf for an x-ray room, two teaching labs, five classrooms, a 120-seat auditorium and animal housing.

John Fishero, the college’s vice president for administrative services, said the total of the three projects is $38 million. The new facilities will bring the campus to 600,000 sf.

Work will begin this spring on all projects. Completion is slated for summer 2011.
